The C-ECL provides assistance to professionals providing services to persons with developmental disabilities in a variety of ways. A service provider who is working with a family may borrow equipment from the library. The C-ECL staff will provide technical assistance and consultation to service providers in an effort to loan the most appropriate equipment for a child. Service providers may also request that C-ECL particpate in assessing assistive technology needs for a child they are serving. In this regard the C-ECL will partner with the service provider to see the child at the C-ECL offices or in the appropriate setting as specified by the service provider or family.
The C-ECL provides direct training to service providers in many aspects of AT and AT applications. The C-ECL offers a wide array of training opportunities on a variety of topics regarding ways to incorporate specific technologies into intervention routines, navigating funding streams and assessment strategies. Please contact the C-ECL for available trainings. These trainings can be provided in large group settings or on a one-to-one basis depending on need.
