Easy to access, the majority of our loan library is located in our offices in Morganton, NC with portions of our inventory located in the Children's Developmental Services Agency offices located in Hickory and Boone, NC. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Visitors are welcome at any time , appointments are encouraged.

At the heart of the C-ECL is an extensive equipment loan library that includes over 3000 pieces of equipment.  This equipment is intended to provide service providers and families with opportunities to "try before you buy".  Categories of equipment available in our library include:

• Seating and positioning,
• Communication,
• Play, adapted learning,
• Mobility,
• Aids for daily living,
• Computer access and literacy.

Why feature such a simple device?  Because  having some of these in your toolbox allows you to convert any battery-operated toy or appliance into a switch-activated device for leisure and functional activities at home or just about anywhere! They're flexible and easy to use, just place the copper disc between the battery contact and a battery in the device, connect a switch and your child is ready for action. This simple little device can be swapped between toys, saving money over purchasing preadapted toys.
